Kennel Intervention & Prevention Program Supports RHS Students
RARE’s Board of Directors has approved its support of The Kennel Intervention & Prevention Program at RHS. This academic support program is under the direction of Saul Patu, Executive Director and is known as The Kennel Study Hall according to the RHS Student Bulletin.
RARE joins the RHS Foundation and RHS PTSA in working to make sure all RHS students have the support they need to reach their academic potential.
All students are welcome to drop-in to The Kennel Study Hall on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday, from 4-6 pm for general academic tutoring.
Appointments are available to meet with tutors before school starting at 7:30 am, at lunchtime, and extended hours for those who have extracurricular activities after school and need tutoring in evenings and/or during the weekends.
The Kennel Intervention & Prevention Program at RHS is in alignment with RARE’s Mission Statement.
“We promote actionable steps by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to learn and grow”.
Currently, the program serves a target population of 160 students, with a priority on students who have a GPA below 2.5. More than 70% of these students are BIPOC.
