Connections in Students’ Own Words
You have heard us talk about Connections — how it helps students feel seen, supported, and part of something larger. But have you heard from the students themselves?
In this new 3-minute video, high school students share what Connections has meant to them. In their own words, they describe how the program helps them:
- Step outside their comfort zone and meet new people across different groups and schools
- Build friendships that cross cliques and grade levels
- Gain communication skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging
- Learn respect for themselves and others while exploring racial equity and community
- Take part in bonding activities like collaborative art projects that show “we belong and we matter”
The video makes clear that Connections is more than just an activity. It is a space where students grow socially, find new confidence, and feel part of a supportive community.
Alongside the video, we have also released the 2024–25 Connections Annual Report, which highlights program outcomes, student feedback, and what is ahead as we continue to grow.
