About the Event:
RARE’s Open Discussions are dynamic forums that invite spirited conversation on today’s most vital issues. This month, we shine a spotlight on Connections—a year-round, student-centered initiative that empowers high school students to create more inclusive, connected school cultures across diverse backgrounds.
Why This Matters:
Research shows that many students today struggle with a sense of belonging. Connections addresses this head-on through a powerful collaboration between RARE and the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle—two organizations deeply rooted in racial equity and youth empowerment.
“I was able to come out of my comfort zone because it felt inclusive.”
— Connections Student
Meet the incredible young people participating in the program, and hear firsthand from Amber Inwood, Connections Youth Engagement Coordinator, about what’s making a difference—and how.
