Successful READ SEATTLE Literacy Event

RARE is a supporter of the Read Seattle Community Coalition which is focused on recruiting individuals to become reading tutors at eight local elementary schools.

The first Read Seattle South-end event was held on Saturday, March 15th at Holgate Street Church of Christ. More than 46 people attended the event that featured the screening of SENTENCED, a documentary about the epidemic of illiteracy.

The next event is planned for June. We are looking to collaborate with the Northwest African American Museum.  More details to come.
