Donations Power RARE’s Mission While Honoring People and Their Values!

/ February 10, 2024

RARE’s leadership is grateful for a community that contributes to our efforts to advance its mission. Many do this by volunteering on RARE’s committees. Others participate in RARE’s online Open Discussions, Beyond Black and White documentary film screenings, or support the Connections and Restorative Practice programs.  And many impact RARE financially with generous gifts.

In 2023, RARE received almost $100,000 in donations! Gifts were both large and small and came from Roosevelt High School Alumni as well as from people who have no connection to Roosevelt – but care deeply about racial equity in education.

One RHS Alumni Class made a substantial donation in celebration of its 50th reunion. Another group of RHS Alums honored a teammate and friend who passed away in 2023. They made donations in his memory and established a place for him in the “In Memoriam” section of RARE’s Donor Wall.

And 100% of RARE’s diverse, all-volunteer Board made financial contributions, as they do every year.

There are several ways to donate, including setting up employer matches or regular monthly contributions. Learn more here: Donate to RARE

Donations can be paired with honoring a family member, friend, or classmate in the “In Memoriam” section of RARE’s Donor Wall.

RARE is only 3 1/2  years old. We have accomplished a great deal in that time but have much more to do. We are thankful that so many honor RARE, and their own values, with financial contributions that allow us to continue this work.
