RARE Announces James A. Davis, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Winners!
Congratulations to Ryan Komba and Aurora Barrera Diaz who were selected as RARE’s 2024 James A. Davis, Jr. Scholarship winners! These two hardworking and proactive Roosevelt High School seniors are on their way to college, each with a $5,000 scholarship.
ULMS Integrates Connections into Summer University: Building a Culture of Belonging
The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) and Roosevelt Alumni for Racial Equity (RARE) are excited to announce the integration of the Connections program into the highly regarded Summer University.
Students & Educators Discuss the Importance of Belonging in Schools
Thriving, connecting, enlightening, understanding, shared leading, and empowering were repeated themes at RARE’s April 29 Open Discussion. Panelists for the event, titled Fostering A Sense of Belonging in Schools, were students and educators from BELONG Partners and the NAACP Youth Council.
Class Reunions are a Great Time to Think of RARE!
Follow RARE’s lead to do something meaningful while celebrating your upcoming class reunion! In 2020, RARE’s founders recognized and acted on their valuable shared legacy from their high school years and created a non-profit to impact racial equity. You can invite RARE to participate in your reunion events and/or make a donation to RARE as a gift from the class or individuals!
