Congratulations to Paki Crawford and Courtney Judkins! As recipients of the Forrest Ward Racial Equity Award each were honored for their efforts to promote racial equity at RHS, not only in the way they treat others, but also for specific activities that create an inclusive and supportive learning and social environment.

WA State Offers Reparations to Descendants of Homebuyers Who Experienced Redlining
Residential segregation and redlining is embedded in the roots of RARE – and created the need for the Voluntary Busing Program to desegregate the city’s students. In 2023, WA state passed the Homeownership Covenant Act – an effort towards reparations to descendants of those impacted by housing discrimination.
