Beyond Black and White to be included in the Seattle Social Justice Film Festival
Congratulations RARE! Beyond Black & White has officially been accepted into the Seattle Social Justice Film Festival! This year, the festival will host in-person events at three Seattle venues:
- October 11 & 12 at The Northwest Film Forum
- October 13 & 14 at University Heights Center
- October 15 at 501 Commons
The festival also intends to have the films available for streaming on the Eventive platform October 16-22, the week after the in-person festival. This furthers their goal of making the program more accessible, without jeopardizing in-person attendance. We all are encouraged to share this news with friends, family and on our social media outlets! Tickets will be available in September.
Being chosen to be a part of the Seattle Social Justice Film Festival is an honor. Our film Beyond Black & White has been elevated to a new level. We feel this accolade will result in positive outcomes including more film screenings, more community and volunteer engagement, ultimately encouraging more interest in restorative practices and connections work. All of which we hope will support RARE’s vision and mission fostering racial equity in our schools and communities. This is an exciting and well-deserved accomplishment! SJFF harnesses the power of visual storytelling to inspire, empower and educate. SJFF serves as a resource and a critical lens to democratize filmmaking and produce brave, cutting-edge documentary and narrative stories otherwise absent from the mainstream media. It is a place for activism, where content creators use visual storytelling as a means to imagine and inspire transformational change.
